Working with Adobe Acrobat files:

All digital Real Estate Magazines produced by McDougal Design are byte served in Adobe Acrobat format (.pdf). Byte serving is a state of the art technology that allows your browser to load a plug-in and see content in the .pdf format within your browser, yet be controlled by the Adobe Acrobat Reader program. If your browser is not set up for byte serving, the file will begin to download to your hard drive when the link is clicked.

1) If your browser is able to receive byte serving information:

After the link is clicked, the Adobe Acrobat reader plug-in will load and the mcddesign.com byte server will download the cover and thumbnails for the document. The first page will load to the view portion of the window and the thumbnails will load to the thumbnail tab in the document navigation pane*. To view the next page of the magazine double click the desired page thumbnail or scroll through the document. As a new page is required it will be downloaded from the mcddesign.com byte server to your browser window. If you would like to save the entire magazine for viewing offline, choose from the "file" menu "save-as" then from the "format" pop-up menu select "source". Select a place on your hard drive to save the document and click "save". The down load will take between 30 minutes and an hour depending on magazine size and your connect speed. During this time you can continue to browse the web.

2) If your browser is not able to receive byte serving information:

When you click on the link the magazine file will start to download to your hard drive. This file will take 30 minuets to an hour to download. During this time you can continue to browse the web. After the download is complete, boot the Adobe Acrobat Reader program and open the downloaded file.

Why Adobe Acrobat files?

Quality! The files are printable, searchable, and portable. You can download the file and share them with your friends. When you're searching for information on an important item, the quality of that information is important. And when you're already accustomed to a printed hard copy of your local Real Estate magazine, your experience with the digital copy should be just as rewarding.
